Renault makes 10 of the best list -
Fleet News magazine picked two Renault cars in its list of star performers that offer the lowest running costs in their sector.
Small van: Renault Kangoo ML19 1.5 dCi 70 Freeway "There is a high degree of ability in the small van sector and models from all manufacturers seem to be very close on pence-per-mile running costs. Looking at standard wheelbase vans with the lowest payload available, it was the Renault Kangoo that came out on top, thanks to modest depreciation and relatively low fuel costs." Four-seat coupé: Renault Laguna 2.0 dCi 150 Dynamique TomTom "For some people when you think of a four-seat coupé, you think of a premium badge car. And why not? It makes sense that the desirability of one of the upmarket German brands would lead to slow depreciation, and hi-tech diesel engines result in modest fuel consumption. But in terms of full-size coupés that can carry four adults, none do it cheaper than the Renault Laguna, whose entry-level 150hp diesel Dynamique TomTom undercuts the Audi A5 TDI 170 by almost four pence-per-mile."
