Who is Eligible for Motability?

Anyone aged three or over who receives either the:

• Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or
• War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement

and has at least 12 months award remaining, can transfer this allowance to pay for a new car on the Motability scheme. There are no medical questions, no credit checks and no waiting lists, you don't even need a driving licence as you can nominate up to two drivers who may be friends or relatives. Parents or carers can apply on behalf of a child aged 3 years and upwards.
